7 Gratitudes
No. 1 // I’ve decided not to save the special embroidery napkins and fine china for the hutch and holidays. I’m currently using heirloom pieces for regular-ish use. These history items from family members past and present make very ordinary moments extraordinary and beautiful.
No. 2 // The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion, Volume One by Beth Brower is a delightful page turner. After several moments in her world, I quickly realized I had better order the next book in the series. A book easily devoured in day, the light-hearted and witty diary entries of young Emma made me chuckle aloud during a car ride to our son’s piano recital. Emma is a character you’ll likely relate to in some way or other.
No. 3 // Darling up-cycled yogurt pots to adorn side tables and vanities throughout the house. Also, great trinkets to run to the neighbors!
No. 4 // Humble harvests. We reaped over double of what we invested last season in carrots and cherry tomatoes. The difference? For carrots, sow them and leave them— for as long as humanly possible. For tomatoes, cutting back vines hard in order to concentrate what fruits and allow air flow.
No. 5 // Incessantly on repeat while writing, cooking, and tidying on weekends is Stacey Kent’s album, Raconte- Moi… what a lovely discovery to add to the playlist.
No. 6 // Ricotta fritters dipped in tangy strawberry jam. Can anyone be unhappy biting into a decadent ball of fried dough? Recipe from Karen Mordechai’s, Sunday Supper’s.
No. 7 // The Courthouse Collection Newsletter!
